Candies.

And other imponderabilities.

Abstract-plastical elaboration and reappraisal of the little sweet things in life, which sometimes can become as odious as a cardinal sin. In these works, the artist deals with sweet temptations. The enticement seems so sweetening and initially comfortable and can quickly become a bad habit that sweetens life in the beginning, but in the course of time can become a vice, a burden for personality and health.

In these artworks, Gabriel Bur once again demonstrates his rather subtle approach to motifs and his meticulous attention to detail. The viewer becomes the discoverer, the object becomes the event. We all are addicted to discovering the special, the extraordinary. The artist plays with that visual addiction, whereby the thematic of the concept independently seeks out its materials and colours for the work. In the spontaneity of creation, everyday objects and materials are often incorporated into the work to shape the concept as well as the character of the artwork. The viewer is left with a lot of space for his or her own interpretation.
