Morningwake.
When the sun rises ...
The morning wakes guards watching life and death, welcome the sun, the day, farewell the night. And thus there they sit, alone and seemingly forgotten, abandoned.
Are they going to hold wake there?
Tell about who or what has died. Do they grieve or do they rejoice that life goes on? Perish is not the end, remember, it is also always a beginning.
Jana Ritter, art scholar and freelance artist:
“... smaller landscape paintings in the manner of a Magritte or Dali, impressive blue tones in the background from dark to searing, bright, such (triggering) anxiety. ...
I would be interested in the reaction of children of different ages. Surely I would ask them if my perception of the abysmal-beautiful is more real than their original curiosity about the "there behind the picture" ....
Superficially, yet only (like) children's book illustration, whose reasons we prefer not to perceive?”
